JOHNSON--DAVIS--BARNETT--WEST Looking for any inf. on the life of
George M. JOHNSON (1834-1916) and his wife, Elizabeth (WEST) JOHNSON (1840-1911).
I am told they were found in; Claiborne Co., TN. Vital Statistics 1914-1925
published by Cleveland Public Library, edited by Edna Wiefering. But I
don't know what is there on them. If you have access to those records,
I would appreciate a look-up. They had a daughter in Claiborne Co.; Louisa
(JOHNSON) DAVIS (abt. 1865-1919). Who was her husband? She died in Claiborne
Co. Would there be a death record? Elizabeth was the dau. of Isaac &
Artie (BARNETT) WEST. I would like any inf. on them also. Elizabeth was
born in TN., probably Claiborne Co. I do not have access to Claiborne Co.
records so census, marriage, birth, & death records look-ups would
be very much appreciated and would love to find other descendants. Thank

Looking for William HOUSTON b. cir. 1820, m. Sarah E. HONEYCUTT.
Had the following children: Joe, Oma, Sally Elizabeth, Lindy, Benjamin,
John, William H., Henry Calvin, Mary, Caroline, Sterle, Jesse Patrick.
Lived near the Powell River. Sally married Dan SHAFFER, Lindy married Joe
RUSSELL, William married Anna KECK, Mary married Joe LONDON, Carloine married
Andy HONEYCUTT, Jesse married 1)Sarah LYNCH 2)Thuse Ann LYNCH on 7/17/1886.
Jesse and Sarah had 2 children, Jesse and Thuse Ann had 13 children. Jesse
was born in 1864 and died in 1949. Any information on any HOUSTON from
Claiborne County will be appreciated.

Looking for any information on Captain Vincent Meyers, I think he
was from Claiborne County. He served in the civil war,he may have been
a member of company c 1st regement Tennesse light artilery.He was presented
a sword by this group on August 9,1864 .

Looking for surname of Lyngar. My great great grandfather Andrew
Chumley Lyngar was born in Clairborne Country. Parents died when he was
7 and he and a brother and sister may have been adopted our to other area
families. Descendent of his siblings are who I am trying to locate. Spelling
my vary. French origin.

"Searching for names of parents of my g-grandfather, Ambrose Sharp,
born May 3, 1824, who on December 16, 1847, married Elizabeth "Betty" Shoffner,
born April 15, 1826. He died May 18, 1888 and she died July 4,
1894. They
are both buried in Sharp's Cemetery in Sharps Chapel, Union County, Tn.
He may have had a half-brother, Larkin Dillion Sharp who married Nancy
Janeway on June 20, 1847. Larkin was about 5 years older than Ambrose.
Each was listed with their families in the 1850, 1860, and the 1870 Union
County census with their wives and children. I have much information I
can share on Ambroses' descendents and a list of Larkin's family up through
the 1870 census. I have access to much info on many of the Sharps who came
into the Sharps Chapel area at the beginning settling of the area, but
cannot connect these Sharps to them. There must be a connection though
since their descendents carry many of the names used in each of these earlier

Looking for gravesite for MULLINS, Micajah R. Confederate soldier
died in Tazewell, TN Nov 30, 1862, Co F 25th AL Infantry. If anyone has
access to local cemetery records could you do a look-up and see if my great-great
grandfather Micajah MULLINS might be buried in a local cemetery. He died
there during the Civil War and was far from his home in Randolph Co, AL.

Searching for any little tidbit of information on WILLIAM ROSS,
b. 1906 in Morgan Co. TN, d. 1931 in Hamlin, TN, m. ELSIE DAVIS in Clairfield,
TN. We are looking for death/burial record of WILLIAM ROSS (middle name
not known) and hoping to find birthplace and any other information on his
father WILLIAM BENJAMIN ROSS, born about 1880. WILLIAM ROSS and ELSIE DAVIS
had one son WILLIAM CILLIS ROSS, b. 9/19/28 in Clairfield, TN, d. 11/11/59
in Marion Co. KY, m. BETTY DAUGHERTY. Any information on this ROSS family
will be greatly appreciated. This family is a complete mystery!!!

Elisha HAMPTON b. August 25, 1792 d.1860s. He married Lydia MERRITT
in Stokes County on about July 22, 1815. A bond of marriage was recorded
on that date and was witnessed by Samuel Frost. Sometime after 1822, they
moved to Claiborne Co., TN with their eldest children.In 1830 and 1840,
he was living in Claiborne Co., TN, while in 1850 and 1860, he was living
in Campbell Co., TN. I am not sure if they moved or if county changed boundary.
They had twelve children:Elizabeth "Betsy" Hampton b.
5/12/1816 married David F. ROGERS; Sarah "Sally" Hampton
b. 2/4/1820 m. Silas INGRAM; Reuben Rogers Hampton b. 4/18/1822 m. Cynthia
Ellen REEVES; Mack Hampton; Rebecca Hampton b. 1824 m. __ MARDEN; Mahala
Touresel Hampton b. 1828 m. Isaac FORD; Amy Hampton b. 1830 m. William
WALKER; William Hampton b. 1834; George Hampton b. 1834 m. Lucinda WOODWARD
and then Julia PETREE; Harriette Hampton b. 1838 m. David R. BRUMMET; Thinza
J./Alsie Jane Hampton b. ca. 1841 m. William HUTSON; Henry Hampton b. ca.
1844 m. Mary Jane MALECOTE. Three of their daughters, Sally, Amy R., and
Thinza, moved with their husbands and children to Page Co., Iowa. Sally
went in 1857, but likely all three families traveled together in a caravan.
In 1860, son John Hampton also moved north, but to Indiana. Later he joined
his sisters' families in Page Co., Iowa for a few years, before moving
on to California.I have some of the next generation, but would like to
contact the descendants of any of these children. I am also trying to find
the parents of Elisha HAMPTON. a

I am trying to get information about my grandfather. His name is FRANK EDWARD LANDRUM he was married to Ella Mae Hicks (around 1938). My mother Jessie Lee Landrum was born on July 16 1939 in Tazwell and she has a younger sister Mary Lou Landrum. I know they divorced and he was a movie projectionist that he died in jail. I don't know his parents, birth date, marriage date or social security number. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for information on JOAB FORTNER of Claiborne County. He and his wife MANERVA FORTNER are shown in the 1860 Claiborne census with their one year-old daughter, SARAH J. FORTNER. Neither Joab nor Manerva are shown in the 1870 census, but there is a Sarah J. Fortner, age 10, living with a NANCY FORTNER of Claiborne Co. I'm looking for any information about what might have happened to Joab and Manerva, and what possible relationship they had with Nancy. Willing to share any of my Fortner information. Thanks!

HARRELL, BURCH: Ezekiel P. Harrell was administrator to Elizabeth HARRELL/ HERRELL'S will in Claiborne Co, TN in 1835. Elizabeth Harrell was listed as buying land in 1815. A william HARRELL was in Claiborne Co. as early as 1808. Were William and Elizabeth Harrell parents of Ezekiel P. Harrell? Ezekiel was born about 1788. Their daughter Phoebe Jane Harrell married Reuben BURCH in Claiborne. Ezekiel HARRELL settled in Cannon Co., TN where he diedd and left a will. He named children Ransom Day Harrell, Mary Parmer (wife of Robert),Sara J. BURCH, and Pheby BURCH. Sara BURCH was likely married to G. C. BURCH, also living in Cannon Co.
